Success
William Hampton Brand was born in 1952 in Hartsville, SC. As a young man he studied art and worked with oils and pastels for several years. In a local competetion, he received special recognition from the prestigious Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston. Later in life, Bill's interest also turned to woodworking, as he developed a deep appreciation for the craftmanship in fine solid wood furniture & antiques. Bill is a retired Veteran and spends most of his time painting, or in his Gallery at 19 Broad Street. He has his own special artistic style and much of his work depicts his love for the Low Country & Charleston's rich history.
