Tom and his family are from Columbia , Maryland . Prior to their relocation to Summerville, they completed an exciting and educational five month cross-country tour of the United States in their motorhome. Tom's wife is an RN with a Masters Degree, and they have two children.
Professional Background
Tom's marketing and sales career has allowed him to work in different areas of marketing and sales. While working as a branch manager for Sears Home Improvement, the country's largest home improvement company, he managed two of their branch offices, one in Northern Virginia and another in Maryland . He was responsible for the hiring and continuous training of 15 sales people in each office. As Marketing Director for a residential contractor in Northern Virginia , Tom developed and personally field-tested a new in-home sales presentation that he used to generate $137,000 in net business in less than 30 days. As Business Development Manager for a commercial construction company, Tom brought to the table over 5 million dollars of potential business during the first quarter of 2004. He wrote articles for the GWCAR's (Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors).
