Success

When college friends Tina Hart and Thomas Meihls teamed together in 1995, their goal was to capture a fresh retail concept that combined contemporary clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and gifts in a friendly shopping environment that was cheerful, inviting and visually stimulating. With solid retail backgrounds, the two entrepreneurs accomplished this goal in April 1996 with the creation of Luna and their first store in Columbia, South Carolina. Since this time Hart and Meihls have successfully expanded the concept to six additional locations, the first being Charleston, SC in 1998, the second in north Atlanta's affluent Buckhead area in October 1999, the third in Bethesda, MD, the fourth in Charlotte, NC, the fifth in the summer of 2003, in Jacksonville, FL and the sixth Greenville, SC, in the spring of 2004.

Company History

The success of Luna lies in its outstanding customer service, creative positioning and variety of merchandise available, as well as each stores individual design and personality. Luna has appeared on a number of televisions shows such as TLC, Makeover Story, and FOXs Ambush Makeover. Luna has been featured frequently in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Lucky, In Style, WWD Atlanta, and Mademoiselle, just to mention a few. Recently Luna has been referenced in The Dynamics of Fashion, a collegiate textbook which explores trends in fashion. Awards such as Best Women's Clothing Store have been awarded frequently to each Luna location.
